Breakout #2

Pastor Elisha Satvinder, 17/02/2012

People matter to God. They should matter to us. They must matter to us.

Let’s not be flippant when we tell people to go to hell.

“An empty stomach has no ears.” Old African proverb.

When Pastor Elisha and his wife, Petrina first visited the Pekeliling flats, he could not accept what he saw. He wondered of the Gospel would help them.

Empowerment is a process that challenges our assumptions about the way things are and can be.

Pastor Elisha then played a video clip about the Harvest Centre called smiles. It makes me cry. What a difference Jesus makes in the lives of people!

Sometimes we are so hung up about the way people should address us, that we make it hard for us to connect to the others.

Pastor Elisha thinks young people ought to teach Sunday school, investing in the next generation.

Empowerment is not touch and go. Empowerment must bring change and change must start with me – we must first be willing to change.

Lord of the Ring, one Singh will get them all!

The church is getting too comfortable.
