While the local political turmoil grabs our attention, the COVID-19 is the one that has the potential to shake the nations, to bring nations down to their knees, and whose ramifications may continue to rock the very foundation of the nations for some time to come.
At press time, there are 98,437 confirmed cases, resulting in 3387 deaths, and 55,659 recoveries. The mortality rate has crept up to 3.44%. If left uncontrolled, it has the potential
We cannot take this lightly. We cannot take our health and safety for granted. there are a few things we can do.
For starters. We need to keep good hygiene. We need to avoid crowds. Before you hug or kiss or touch your loved ones, wash your hands and face thoroughly first. Secondly, with so many ‘news’ flying around, please do not help spread unverified news. Do some checking before passing it on. Share only verified news. If it has not been confirmed by the Ministry of Health or it has not been reported by the mainstream media, think twice before sharing it. It’s good enough to tell everyone to be on the alert. Spreading fake news about this building or that school being quarantined does not help. If anything, it furthers the spread of panic and hopelessness. We need to remain calm, which brings me to my third point.
Yes, we need to remain calm. There is no need to go buy lots of toilet rolls because we do not want to lose out.
The nations shake. Oceans roar. The earth moves. We who put our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ shall not be shaken.
