I wanted to write something – a devotional, an observation, a musing - to accompany the daily reading. I started doing that for my cell group.
A little background. Kathleen (my wife) and I cannot join the CG meetings every Friday night. Kathleen is getting her dialysis on Friday evenings, and I am there to bring her home. The time clashes. However, I stayed connected via WhatsApp. Writing something about what we read each day I figure I could encourage us to commit to the reading. It also helps us to think about what we read.
I then shared it with my other favourite group of people from DUMC – the DUMC Writing Team, my former fellow writers.
I missed the first and third days. I then bulldozed ahead to 1 Sam 5 on Saturday (06/01/2024) when we did not get to 1 Sam 5 until Monday (09/01/2024).
I have also decided to switch from WhatsApp to my blog. It makes it easier for me to get back past sharings. I also do not want to force anything down anyone’s throat. If anyone wants to read and finds it a little bit useful, please come to the blog. If not, it’s ok. And you can easily catch up with the reading.
Now that I completed week 2, I look ahead to week 3. I have 5 readings to write about each week. The last reading is on 26/12/2024. I am going to keep doing this and see how far I can go. With God’s blessings and your encouragement (you know the ocassional comments), I might go far.
Be blessed.
