Good morning. Today, we read Psalm 10. The psalmist cried his heart out for justice in a world of injustice, wickedness, and oppression. The psalmist saw the arrogance and the cruelty of the wicked oppressors. He lamented for the innocent and vulnerable.
However, in face of such great atrocities, the psalmist still trusted in God’s sovereignty and justice. He knew that God saw everything and he would ultimately bring justice. The psalmist had hope and confidence in God that he would defend the oppressed. He called on God to take action against the wicked oppressors.
Cry for Justice. We see injustice and oppression everywhere. We see the plight of the minority, the marginalized, the vulnerable, the voiceless. Psalm 10 highlights the importance of lifting up our voices in prayer and and advocacy for justice.
Trusting in God’s Sovereignty. The wicked seems to have it all. They do not obey God. They do whatever they want to get whatever they want. They are “successful”. Yet, we can trust in God’s sovereignty. He sees all and he knows everything. The wicked incites, oppresses, abuses. God will bring about justice in his own timing. As we face or observe injustices and unrighteousness, we trust that God is in control.
Hope in God’s Deliverance. We hope in God’s deliverance. God is faithful. We hold onto the hope that God will defend the oppressed even in the midst of trials and tribulations. We can trust God will bring justice to the needy. We know that justice will prevail.
What we can do when we see innocents being oppressed? What do we do when we see poor dogs bring abandoned, maimed, burned, amputated, poisoned and the perpetrator getting a slap on the wrist? What do we do when someone incites hatred for political gains with impunity? What can we do when there is a systematic approach to the distribution of valuable resources like education, financial aid, business opportunities, career advancements, healthcare, the usage of roads, etc.? Advocate if you can. Be committed to seeking God’s justice. Pray you must. Bring it up to God. And always keep our faith in God. Trust in his timing. God is in charge. Justice may seem delayed but you can be sure it will come.
