Let’s be honest – sometimes the Christian walk feels more like a marathon on an empty stomach. We set out with good intentions, but life throws detour our way, and suddenly prayer feels like a chore and reading the Bible is something we do only when we can squeeze in spare time.
But hold on a minute, fellow strugglers! This is where Romans 8:31 comes in like a divine pit crew, offering a much-needed boost:
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)
Even when we stumble, even when our spiritual gas tank feels empty, God is still with us, cheering us on! He does not expect us to be perfect runners, just to keep putting one foot in front of the other. #NeverGiveUp
So, let’s ditch the guilt and embrace the refuel. How about this week we commit to:
- A daily devotional: Start small but start somewhere! Even 5 minutes is good. Make it consistent.
- Accountability partner(s): Get together with a group of friends you can trust and rely on. Share your struggles. Let them help you along the way. Of course, you have to do the same for them.
- A worship playlist: Crank up praise music and let your spirit soar! I have several playlists in my Spotify. I play them depending on the mood. All of them can surely lift up my spirit no matter what mood I am in.
Remember, the Christian walk is a journey, not a sprint. Let’s support each other, celebrate the victories (big and small!), and keep our eyes fixed on the prize – knowing God is always by our side.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your unwavering love and support, even when we feel like spiritual couch potatoes. Help us to refuel our faith, find joy in your presence, and keep moving forward on this amazing journey. In the name of Jesus, amen.
