Are you surrounded by negativity? It could be a toxic environment at the workplace. It could be a conflict with someone you care very much about. It could be the someone who cannot stop talking about how bad life is. Or the increasing moral decay in society. How do you claw your way back to hope and peace?
Psalm 36 offers encouragement we need in the face of darkness. The psalmist recognizes the wickedness he sees around him but his faith in God remains unshaken.
Psalm 36 reminds us that we can find true security and peace not in external circumstances but in our relationship with God. Even when the world seems wrong, even when we walk through the darkest valley, we can choose to focus on his love and mercy.
Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. (Psalm 36:5)
I invite you to say this prayer.
Abba Father, in times of darkness, uncertainty, and negativity, help me to turn towards you. Grant me the strength to trust in your unwavering love and faithfulness. Let me find refuge in your presence. Allow me to experience the peace that surpasses all understanding. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
