Is it hard to learn to walk? Have you seen a child give up learning to walk? It takes effort to get the hang of it. You learn to balance yourself while moving one step ahead at one time. In the beginning, you could not even take one step without falling. Then you could make one step. You looked to your dad or your mom for approval. Your mobility is your newfound freedom. You gradually learn to take a few steps at a time. You do not want to be carried anymore. You want to walk. And you learned to walk, against all odds. You learned to walk no matter how many times you fell.

If learning to walk in a coordination of your sight, balance, and motor skills, learning to drive is even tougher.

Is it hard to learn to drive? You are expected to simultaneously see incoming traffic, the vehicles in front, the vehicles from your sides, and sometimes even the vehicles at the back. You are also, at the same time, expected to hold on to the steering wheel with both hands, shift the gear (for manual transmission), give signal, brake when necessary. And you do this all while avoiding the road users targeting your vehicle at every opportunity. Yet, you learned to drive against all odds. You learned to drive no matter how many times you failed.

Is it hard to do daily devotion?

I invite you to say this prayer.

Dear Father, I long to develop a deeper relationship with you through your Word. Grant me the discipline to carve out time each day to read the Bible and reflect on your teachings. Open my heart to understand your message and guide me as I turn the pages. Help me find the consistency I need to make this a daily habit, a source of strength and inspiration in my life. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
