How can we keep our faith when life is so uncertain? This week, we read five beautiful passages from the Psalms (89, 90, 102, 120 and 106). They all have one thing in common: they show us how God is always there for us, even when we are going through tough times, suffering, or repenting. These wonderful passages offer believers hope in every season.
These five chapters of Psalms are filled with heartfelt, honest prayers that reflect both the best and worst of life. It is so lovely to see how God’s faithfulness never wavers, even when we are going through tough times. Even though they were feeling weak, frustrated, and homesick, they still held onto God’s promises.
Psalm 89 is a great reminder that even when life gets tough, God is there for us and keeps his promises. Psalm 90 shows us that while our lives are short, God’s love for us is eternal. Psalm 102 is a heartfelt plea for help. Psalm 120 is a heartfelt plea for help and deliverance from those who seek to deceive us. And finally, Psalm 106 looks at how God was always there for his people, even when they messed up.
“Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations.” (Psalm 90:1, NIV)
These passages are a great reminder that, even when we are facing challenges, God is always there for us, ready to support us and guide us through. He is our rock, our fortress, our refuge in every generation and every circumstance.
