Are you weary? Heavy-laden? Are you feeling weak? How do you find strength?
This week, we read give chapters of Psalms, including chapters 73, 92, 95, 45, and 148. You will find out the strength and the joy that come from worshipping God.
Ps 73 reflects on life’s struggles. The psalmist seems to be envious of the wicked. However, he shifts his focus on God’s justice and faithfulness. In times of confusion, God is true strength. Ps 92 invites us to celebrate God’s goodness. Those who worship God find renewed strength.
Ps 95 calls us to sing to the Lord with gladness as we recognize his greatness as the creator of all things. The psalmist invites us to come to God in reverend awe. Ps 45 is a royal psalm (a psalm about king and the role of a king.) It depicts the majesty of God’s anointed one. Finally, Ps 148 calls all of creations to worship God and to declare God’s glory!
I pray that we read these passages with expectation to be encouraged, humbles, and inspired. They do not just remind us of God’s strength, they draw us closer to him and renew our faith in his goodness.
Let’s worship the Lord!
I invite you to say this prayer.
Father, open my heart to your Word this week. Help me find strength and joy in worship. Help me to draw closer to you as I continue to read your Word. I pray in the name of Jesus Amen.
