I Feel Listless

For quite a while, I have been dragging myself through the days. My daily routine is like clockwork. However, I feel like an old phone stuck at 5% battery. Not quite dead, but definitely not thriving. It is in dire need of recharging. My prayers feel mechanical. My motivation is gliding at low surface. If life has a skip button, I might consider pressing it.

However, God never calls us to a life of cruising along. He created us with purpose. Even when we feel stuck, he is still calling. The question is: will we get up and answer his call?

Firstly, I am telling myself to show up anyway. I may not feel like praying, reading the Bible, or serving, but faith is not about feelings. It is about obedience. Sometimes, the act of moving forward is what reignites the fire.

Secondly, I need to stop waiting for perfect conditions. That is just an excuse. God does not need me to be at 100% before he can use me. If he can part the Red Sea with a staff and fee thousands with a child’s afternoon snack, he can certainly work through my tire, unmotivated self.

Lastly, I choose gratitude. Listlessness fades when I focus on God has already done. So, here’s to pushing forward, trusting him, and living fully – even when I feel like taking a nap instead.
