Joy, In All Seasons #1 – Don’t Miss It

The Quiet Kind of Joy

Sometimes, joy is loud – fireworks, laughter in the room, greats moments etched in your memory. However, some of the most powerful joy is quiet. It does not demand attention; it simply fills the cracks of your day until you realize you’ve been smiling without thinking about it.

It’s your faithful dog laying nearby when you get up. The sound of rain tapping the windows while you’re safe and warm inside. A shared glance with a friend that says we both get it.

The quiet kind of joy asks nothing extravagant. It just needs your attention. When we move too fast, we may overlook it – chasing the next big thing instead of savouring what is already here.

Jesus spoke of a joy that no one can take away (John 16:22). That joy does not need a stage. It lives in contentment, gratitude, and the steady awareness that even small things are gifts.

If we learn to notice these soft, steady moments, joy stops being a rare visitor. It becomes a daily companion. And that’s when life feels full, even on the most ordinary days.
