We have gone through nine things we should never treat lightly, including our mind, our genes, our feelings, the truth, innocence, time, conscience, relationships, and God’s glory. Each is not just a concept, but a boundary given by God for our good.
The temptation is always to test the edges, to see how close we can get without crossing the line. Or, once we cross the line, how far we can go. But Scripture reminds us: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Pro 9:10). To fear him is not to cower, but to revere – to recognize he is God and we are not, to trust that his ways are higher than ours, to believe that his commands are not burdens but safeguards.
Disobedience is costly, but obedience, though often hard, always leads to life. God is not a tyrant eager to restrict us; he is a Father who longs to protect us from ourselves, from our pride, from our blindness, from harm we cannot yet see.
So let us walk humbly, wisely, reverently. Not in fear of punishment, but in awe of his holiness and in gratitude for his love. For in obeying him fully, we discover freedom, peace, and joy – the life he intends for his children.
