Why They Hate My Jesus #5 – Conclusion

We have walked through four reasons why the world hates Jesus:

  • The cross offends because it opposes the pride and reveals we cannot save ourselves.
  • The light exposes what people would rather keep hidden.
  • The call to be different clashes with the values of the world.
  • The love of Christ overturns the cycle of hate and reveals the weakness of revenge.

None of this should surprise us. Jesus told us plainly: “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first” (John 15:18). The rejection he faced, we also will face if we follow him.

Rejection is not a reason to retreat. It is a reason to stand firm. The world may call the cross foolish, but to us it is the power of God. The world may resist the light, but darkness cannot overcome it. The world may pressure us to blend in, but we belong to a kingdom that cannot be shaken. The world may answer with hate, but we will answer with love, because love never fails.

So let us go forward with courage. Let us not be ashamed of Christ or his words. Let us continue to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world, even if the world mocks us for it. Let us walk boldly, trusting that the results do not rest in our hands, but in the hands of God who judges rightly and redeems perfectly.

The hate is real, but the victory is greater. Jesus has already overcome the world. Our task is simple: to follow him, to shine for him, and to love like him – until the day he returns and every knee bows before him.

I invite you to say this prayer.

Father,
You were hated, rejected, and crucified, yet you rose again, in victory.
Strengthen me to walk boldly in your footsteps.
When I face opposition, remind me that I am not alone.
When I am tempted to shrink back, give me courage to stand.
Make me salt in a tasteless world, light in a dark place,
and a witness that points to you alone.

I trust the results into your hands.
Use my life for your glory, until the day I see you face to face.

I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
