“Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.” (James 4:14)
The Danger of Taking Health for Granted
We often treat our physical health as a secondary thought. Most of us take our bodies for granted until a sudden diagnosis or a chronic illness sounds the alarm. We only panic when we realize we can no longer run, see, or move as we once did. We all agree that prevention is better than a cure. So, why do we wait for trouble to strike before making a change.
Why We Must Seek God Daily
This same “crisis-mode” mentality often plagues our spiritual lives. We assume there is always a tomorrow. We feel we have decades to spare before we need to get serious about our faith. However, the Bible warns us that our time is brief. To seek God daily is the spiritual prevention we need to keep our souls resilient.
How to Practice His Presence
There is nothing on earth more valuable than spending time with your Creator. To truly seek God daily, we should:
- Read His Word: Let scripture be your daily bread.
- Pray and Meditate: Talk to Him and, more importantly, listen.
- Worship and Wait: Basking in His glory restores your strength.
Do not wait for a spiritual “health scare” to turn your heart toward heaven. Seek God daily starting today. Find the peace that only comes from soaking in His love and enjoying His presence.
A Short Prayer
Father, forgive me for taking my time and health for granted. Draw me closer to You today. Help me to seek Your face daily and find my rest in Your presence. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
