At 12:48 AM today, Ben suddenly stood up from his sleep, walked to his bed, and started gasping for air, struggling to breathe.
Suppressing the panic in my heart, I laid hands on him and prayed. Those few minutes felt like an eternity; I felt a suffocating tightness in my chest, not physical, but emotional. Thank God, after a few minutes, his breathing finally returned to normal.
Still uneasy, I continued to cry out to Jesus. Ben walked back to the floor and lay down. Later, he even went to the glass door and barked at some unseen movement outside, just like he usually does. You cannot imagine the joy in my heart at that moment – my Ben was okay! Seeing him settled, I watched him for some time before I was finally able to sleep.
This morning, he is full of energy and in high spirits. The plan for his annual checkup in June remains unchanged.
God is faithful. Even when a slacker son like me prays with such minuscule faith for the dog he loves, God still listens, heals, and protects.
(I brought Ben to the vet last year when this happened. They checked his heart with ECG, his lungs with x-ray, and did test on his blood and urine. An ultrasound was arranged to scan everything. I have never seen Ben being held down for so long (it was close to an hour.) And I was an accomplice! The doctors did not find anything. He has been taking medicine every day to help with his breathing since then. And I have been faithfully recording Ben’s every cough, wheezing, retching, and vomiting. I show that to his doctor every time we go to the vet.)

今日凌晨 12:48，Ben 突然从睡梦中站起来，走到床褥上坐下，开始上气不接下气，拼命地挣扎呼吸。
我压下满心的慌乱，按手为它祷告。那几分钟感觉无比漫长，我甚至觉得心里窒息得喘不过气来。感谢主，几分钟后它终于恢复了正常呼吸。
我不放心，继续向耶稣呼求。Ben 走回地上躺下，后来还走到门口，像平时一样对着外面看不见的动静吠叫。你们无法想象我当时的心里有多激动 – 我的 Ben 没事了！看着它安定下来，我才安心去睡。
今天早上它精神奕奕，朝气蓬勃。我打算 6 月带它去做年度体检的计划不变。
上帝是信实的。哪怕是我这样一个躺平劣子，只是带着微不足道的信心为爱狗祷告，他也垂听、医治和保守。
（去年发生这种情况时，我带Ben去看了兽医。他们用心电图检查了他的心脏，用X光检查了他的肺部，还做了血液和尿液检测。还安排了超声波检查，全面扫描了身体各部位。Ben长这么大，从来没有被按住这么久（将近一个小时！），而且我是帮凶！从那以后，他每天都在服用一种帮助呼吸的药物。从那时开始，我就开始认真记录着Ben的每次咳嗽、喘息、干呕和呕吐。每次去兽医诊所，我都会把这些记录给他的医生看。）
