Hello, readers. We continue with 1 Sam 19.
Saul’s jealousy intensified and he stepped up his attempts to get David killed. David received help from Saul’s own children – Jonathan and Michal. Jonathan was BFF with David while Michal married David. They chose to help the man after God’s heart instead of they own father. God delivered David from harm through Jonathan and Michal.
David experienced first hands the loyalty of Jonathan and Michal.
I shared some characteristics of a true friend yesterday. A true friend can often get you out from a bind. A true Christian friend can help you stay on the path.
God’s deliverence can come from unexpected places. However, God’s deliverence can definitely come from your loved ones, family, and friends.
David was anointed as the next king. Did it cross his mind why he had to suffer the persecution of the current king? Did it cross his mind to pray for God to make him king earlier so he could be freed from attempts on his life? What we can read is that he did not try to fight back. He did not try to kill Saul. He did not try to avenge himself. He was there facing Goliath when he declared “the battle is the Lord’s”! He knews how to depend on God. And depend on God he did.
What kind of challenges are you facing in your life right now? Are you trying to make things work on your own? We need to know somethings cannot be changed however much we want them to change. You got a raw deal. You made the wrong choice. You trusted the wrong person. You got a disease that the medical science today cannot help. Keep your faith. We are still in the journey of life. We know the destination. We know what will happen at the end if we hold on to out faith. Heaven is a long way, do not sweat the small stuff.
Cast all our worries to God for he cares.
