It is said your enemies cannot betray you. They are upfront about not liking you, hating you, wanting to hurt you. No. Only your friends can betray you. A betrayal of a loyal friend is arguably more painful than an attack from an enemy.
David was betrayed by the people in Keilah who he saved from the hands of the Phillistines. He was then betrayed by the Ziphites. He was in pain. He was angry. However, he placed his trust in God.
Acknowledge Your Pain. As we seen many times, we do not need to hide from God. We cannot hide form God. Do not suppress your emotions when you are betrayed. The hurt. The anguish. Be honest when we come to God.
Trust in God. While David acknowledged his pain of being betrayed, he also trust God sees everything and will ultimately bring justice, in his time.
Find Strength in Prayer. During difficult times, prayer is powerful. When you pour your heart to God, you can find strenght from God and seek comfort from God. Through prayers, we seek the presence of God. Through prayers, we remind ourselves who God is in our life.
