In Psalm 21, we see David reflecting from his own experience that God is a source of strength. He is our victory.
Trust is the Source of Strength. Verse 7 emphasizes that the king’s strength comes from trusting in the Lord’s unfailing love. It doesn’t come from our own resources.
God Grants Victory. Verses 2 and 4 tell us God gave victories by granting the king’s desires and overthrowing his enemies.
Our Response. David remembered what God did for him in verses 3 to 6. He was thankful. He would “not be shaken.” This may suggest living a life worthy of God’s calling.
Is there an area in your life that you struggle to trust God completely? What is stopping you to trust God completely? Think of a recent victory God had given you, no matter how big or how small. Take a moment to give thanks to God. Testify if you can. How can you show gratitude to God’s favour and unfailing love? How can you live a life reflecting your faith as well as honouring God?
