10/05/2024|Psalm 26 – Walking Blamelessly

In Psalm 26, David affirmed his integrity before God. He requested divine examination. The key theme is about living a blameless life. Inviting God’s scrutiny is nor arrogance but a humble submission to God. David believed God is just and righteous. He committed to walk upright and avoid any association with bad influences.

Live with Integrity. Strive to live a life of integrity before God and man. Let our words and deeds reflect honesty, righteousness, justice, and faithfulness.

Seek God’s Scrutiny. We ought to invite God to examine our hearts regularly less we miss out on some sins we committed. Open ourselves to the Holy Spirit, let him guide us, let him correct us. Allow God to refine our character so we can walk with him blamelessly. Let him refine us as gold.

Stay Away from Bad Influences. Repeating a similar theme from yesterday’s reading of Psalm 101, we are once again reminded to be discerning about the company we keep. Do not take this likely. Surround yourself with people who uphold godly values. Avoid mixing with those who may lead you astray.

You can say this prayer if you want.

Father, I surrender my life to your scrutiny. Examine my heart, Abba Father, and lead me in your path of righteousness. Help me to walk blamelessly before you. Let me honour you in all that I do. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
