Lost+Found

I have a penchant for hiding things. Most of the time, I hide things in the house from burglars and thieves. No one can find them. Not even myself.

Years ago, I hid our passports at home for security purposes. When we wanted to take them out for renewal, I could not for the life of me remember where I put them. I searched the whole house. I looked at every nook and cranny. I could not find them. I searched a few more times every now and then when I thought I had inspiration.

A few months passed. Or a few years. I dug them out. I cannot tell you where I found (hid) them, not because I do not want to reveal where I hid them. I cannot tell you where I found (hid) them because I cannot remember where I found (hid) them.

We got our passports renewed.

Two months ago, I hid a stack of cash (not a lot, I don’t have a lot of cash.) When I wanted to take them out to give to my wife (it was her cash), I could not. I did not remember where I hid it. I prayed. I searched for it in the usual places. I looked at the normal places where I hide things. Nope. Nada. Zilch. I tried hard to remember where I stashed the cash. I could not.

Today, I found something I did not expect to find where I did not expect to find it. I snapped a photo to show Kathleen (my wife.) She asked me whether I found the cash too. I prayed. I told Ben (my dog) I wanted to find the cash. I then zoomed into the place which I shall not name. There it was. The wad of cash (not a lot, I do not have a lot of cash.)

Now, as far as I am concerned, I have nothing I hid and forgot.

God is good. All the time.
