Beginning today, for three days, many areas in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor are experiencing water disruption due to a major maintenance work by Air Selangor. The tap water that we often take for granted will stop working after we exhaust the water reserve in the water tank. There will be no water until the work is complete.
God is always with us. Do we take God for granted? What if you call on to God and do not get an answer? What if you feel God is not listening to your prayer? What if you feel God is distant?
David cries out to God in Psalm 69. His sorrow, loneliness, and persecution are made clear. He is overwhelmed by his enemies. He feels God is distant. Yet, even in the depts of despair, David maintains his hope and pleas for God to intervene.
We learn from Psalm 69 we can be honest with God about our pain, doubt, and fear. He is who we can turn to in our deepest emotions. Even when we feel overwhelmed, we can cling to the hope of his deliverance.
I invite you to say this prayer.
Merciful Father, when burdens weigh us down and shadows surround us, grant us the courage to cry out to you in honesty. Help us not to despair, but to trust in your unfailing love and your power to deliver us. In the name of Jesus, amen.
Do not give up. Continue to draw near to God. He will never leave you mor forsake you.
