Greetings. We begin this week’s reading with Psalm 43. Utopia does not exist in this world. I understand Utopia literally means “no place.” This world is not our home. We see injustices in our society every day. Psalm 43 offers a heartfelt cry for God’s deliverance and justice. It reminds us to seek God’s light and truth to guide us through our darkest valley.

Send me your light and your faithful care, let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell. (Psalm 43:3)

The psalmist years for God’s intervention. He felt God has rejected him. Yet, despite the trials and the feelings of abandonment, he calls upon God for guidance. He trusts God for justice. When we are in difficult times, our first response should be to seek God and place our trust in him. When life seems unfair, when we are perplexed and do not know what to do, turn to God and let him guide us.

When we have a medical emergency, we call an ambulance so the patient can receive immediate medical attention. Do not trust grandmother’s stories or pseudoscience. Do not lean on your own understanding.

I invite you to say this prayer.

Father, in the face of adversity and injustice, help me to seek your light and truth. Guide me through my darkest moments and lead me to your presence. Strengthen my faith and remind me of your unfailing love and justice. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
