Person sitting quietly in morning light to seek God daily through prayer.

Week of 04/11/2024 Preview

We are going to read five chapters of Psalms in the following week. We will focus on the theme of joy and reverence for God’s creation and his sustaining power. This theme resonates across Ps 147, 66, 128. 104, and 105. It reminds us of God’s hand in every facets of the world around us.

It is a beautiful morning. You walk through the park, where every petal, blade of grass, and drop of dew seems to glisten with life. You hear birds singing in the distant. The sun is rising slowly, warmly embracing you while lighting up the world. A gentle breeze stirs the leaves. In this quiet moment, you feel the wonder of creation around you. Nature itself is offering praise.

This week, Ps 147, 66, 128, 104, and 105 invite us to experience that same wonder through God’s Word. Each Psalm is a clear reminder of God’s hand in creation and his faithfulness to his people. In Ps 147, we see God heals the broken-hearted and sustaining the earth’s beauty. Ps 66 celebrates his mighty acts with gratitude. Ps 128 shows God’s blessings and transformation power over our homes and communities. Ps 104 details God’s creation. Finally, Ps 105 recounts God’s faithfulness.

I pray that as we read these Psalms, they will awaken a sense of reverend awe, just like you are in the park in the morning. Allow them to deepen your appreciation for God’s work, not only in nature but in every aspect of your life.
