Week of 11/11/2024 Preview

I am in the darkest valley. I cannot see my fingers even when I hold them up in front of my face. As I trudge along the path, I cannot see any light in any directions. I know not how long I will remain in this situation. Where do I find hope? Where do I get my strength?

In the coming week, we read six chapters of Psalms, including 111, 112, 113, 117, 114, and 71. They share a common theme of God’s enduring faithfulness and his call for us to respond in trust and praise. We are reminded of God’s unchanging character and the power of his presence. We are invited to reflect on the strength and hope found in a life rooted in God’s promises.

Ps 111 celebrates God’s works and his righteous ways. Ps 112 continues by describing the blessings and security found in a person who reveres God. Ps 113 and 117 combined to encourage us to sing his praises. Ps 114 recounts God’s deliverance. Lastly. Ps 71 tells us of God’s sustaining power from youth through old age.

Together, these passages help us to remember God’s faithfulness is our foundation, no matter where we are in life. They encourage us to live with thanksgiving and courage. We know that God’s love and righteousness endure.

I may not know how long I will remain in the valley. What I know is that my help comes from God. My peace and security are in God. I will continue to praise him and worship him, come what may. I trust God to sustain me and to deliver me.

What about you?

Do share your thoughts as you read the passages and meditate on them.
