Seizing the Day: Making the Most of Our Time
“As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.” (Jn 9:4)
Jesus reminds us of the urgency and purpose of our lives as we follow Jesus. Time is precious. How we make use of our time reflects our priorities and faith.
To seize the day, we must make the most of every opportunity to glorify God, serve others, and grow in our relationship with him. This requires intentional living. We are to choose activities that align with his purposes and avoid distractions that lead us astray.
In line with that, we must choose the right battles. Not every challenge or debate is worth our time and energy. As Christians, we are called to focus on battles that advance God’s kingdom – to share the Gospel, to love our neighbours, and to stand for truth and justice.
Paul urged us to “making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” (Eph 5:16) Let us use our time wisely. Let us remember that each day is an opportunity to do the work of the One who sent us.
Seize the day with purpose and faith. Trust that as we follow God’s will, our efforts will bear eternal fruit.
Seize the day! Seize the moment!
