Last Saturday, the Coway service personnel came to my house to provide service to the Coway products. I told her auntie “sudah meninggal” (madam has passed away.) She regretted not visiting her before she departed.
Two days ago, I went to the columbarium to witness the installation of her plaque.
A moment ago, Kathleen’s phone rang. I picked up the call. It was the eye hospital calling to remind us of our appointments. I told the caller I would be coming alone as my wife had passed away.
It is inevitable I will continue to re-visit Kathleen’s passing from time to time. It might hit me like a ton of bricks. Or a freight train. Or a tidal wave. Or it could be like a breeze.
I will not say I have moved on as there is no moving on. Kathleen has been my wife for 31 years. She will continue to be a part of my life, just in a different way.
