A mother prays for her son every day before she goes to sleep and when she gets up in the morning. A teacher prays for his students. A cell group leader prays for each of his cell group members every day. A married couple pray together and for each other. They want what is best for the person(s) they are praying for. They pour their hearts out in prayer, longing for their children, spouse, students, fellow Christians to thrive, to grow, and to make the right choices. Knowing their love and effort on your behalf, you would not want to let them down. Their faith in you compels you to rise above the challenges and live a life worthy of their hopes.
“Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.” (Heb 7:25)
Now, consider Hebrew 7:25. Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, prays continuously for us before the Father. He does not just pray once for us. He constantly prays for our well-being, guidance, and salvation.
If the love of a loved one moves us, how much more should Christ’s relentless advocacy inspire us to live a life of faithfulness and purpose? Jesus gave everything for us. Jesus gave everything to us. And he intercedes for us with infinite love and grace. Even when we stumble, even when we fall, his prayers remind us that we are never abandoned.
Let the love of Christ be your motivation. Strive not to disappoint the One who prays for you with a love that saves, sustains, and transforms.
