Seek the Lord and Lack No Good Thing

We seem to be chasing after something all the time. Success, security, happiness. We want to perform better than our colleagues. We want to get better grades than our classmates. We want to be faster than other competitors. We want to have the latest model of phone at the earliest possible.

Yet, no matter how much we chase, we still feel like something is missing. Psalm 34:10 reminds us of a powerful truth, “those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.”

This is a great promise! The Bible does not promise life will always be easy. It says God’s grace is sufficient for us. It does not say we will get everything we want. It says God will provide our needs when we seek him and his kingdom first. The world tells us to depend on ourselves, you know, “God helps those who help themselves.” God invites us to trust him with all our hearts and lean not in our own understanding.

That is not all. When we seek God, we get the peace that transcends all understanding (Phil 4:7), strength renewed (Is 40:31), joy as the source of our strength (Neh 8:10). He fills our heart with joy, he guides our steps, and he ensures that we lack nothing of true value.

So, do not spend too much time chasing after fleeting things – chase after God! Seek his face every day, dive into his Word, and surround yourself with fellow believers. When you put him in the highest place in your life, he will take care of the rest.

Make it your mission to seek the Lord wholeheartedly. Watch how he fills your life with everything good.
