Whom Have I in Heaven but You?

When Ben and I walk the park, he gets distracted by other dogs that come too close. I need to bring him away from the other dogs, calm him down, before he can concentrate on passing motion.

Where do we turn when we face trouble? When life feels uncertain and our hearts are weary, Ps 73:25 offers great comfort, “Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you.”

We are called to a deep and unwavering trust in God alone. Do not look here and look there. The world offers many distractions – wealth, success, fame, relationships – but none of them can truly satisfy our souls. God remains constant, faithful, and unshaken. When we fix our eyes on him, we find true peace and security.

I do not know what you are facing now. Doubts, fears, or disappointments. Remember, God is your refuge and strength. God is your firm foundation. He is the one who holds your future. And he will never leave you nor forsake you. Even when everything else fades, he remains.

May your heart be anchored by this truth today – God is enough. He is your provider, your protector, and your portion forever. Lift up your eyes and look at Jesus. Trust in his perfect love. Come what may, you can stand firm, knowing in heaven and on earth, there is no one greater than our God.

Some may trust in horses, some may trust in chariots, but we will trust in the name of the Lord.

Trust him – he will never fail you.
