The stone is rolled away, the silence lingers. The kind of silence that comes after grief has emptied itself. (I am not sure if mine is empty). The kind that makes you hold your breath -you know something is going to happen. You knew something happened. The tomb is empty.
He is not there.
The one who bled, who was beaten, who hung between two thieves – he lives. And with his resurrection, everything shifts. Death, once final, is conquered. Sin, once binding, is broken. The curse, once certain, is undone. The resurrection does not erase the wounds; it transforms them. The scars remain, but now they tell a different story – not of defeat, but of victory.
This is not just history. It is personal. If Christ rose, then hope is never dead. If he walked out of the grave, then no night lasts forever. (Note to self: the night will pass). For every Christian who has ever felt the weight of shame, the sting of loss, the grip of fear – Easter answers with a quiet, thunderous truth: Jesus lives.
So, we do not just celebrate a moment. We stake our lives on it. We live differently – bravely, freely, wholly – because the grave could not hold Him, and now it cannot hold us either.
He is risen. And nothing will ever be the same. Including you. (Loong, that means you too).
