Do Not Skip the Most Important Meal

Beloved,
We feed our bodies three times a day (sometimes more—we are Malaysians, after all). But how often do we feed our souls? When it comes to our spiritual food, do we have one 40-day fast after another?

Jesus said, “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4). In other words, the Bible isn’t a nice to have – it’s your daily bread. Skip it too long, and your spirit starts to starve.

I’m not saying you need to read ten chapters at dawn with a candle and Gregorian chants in the background (although that is not a bad idea). Just start. One Psalm. One parable. One verse. Let the Word meet you where you are – groggy, busy, pre-occupied, worn out, burn-out, hopeful.

God speaks through Scripture, not as a distant professor, but as a loving Father. He’s not testing you – He’s feeding you.

Some days it will be fire in your bones. Other days, it may feel quiet. But the habit matters. Eat regularly. Eat healthy. Eat consistently. Just like meals, it adds up over time. Strength. Wisdom. Peace. Truth.

So, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, let’s not live on snacks when we’ve been offered a feast.

Open your Bible. Pull up a chair.  God is ready to speak. Are you ready to listen?

With his love and mine, Loong
