When asked about the most important commandments, Jesus said love God, and then he said love your neighbours. Simple, right? If we are going to be honest, it’s easier to love people in theory than in traffic (chew on that a bit). Still, kindness is one of the clearest ways we reflect God’s heart. It doesn’t have to be grand. Text someone you haven’t talked to in a while. Buy someone coffee or lunch. Smile at that colleague who always microwaves fish. You get it.
And hey, if you’re looking for someone to practice on… I volunteer. Text me. Email me. Call me. Like my blog post. Anything.
Say a prayer for me. Send me the transcript.
Bake cookies for me. (You know who you are. Thank you.)
Say something about me. It does not even have to be nice.
Because, friends… I am hanging on by a thread.
Okay, partly kidding. But also – kindness matters more than we realize. You never know when your small act is the lifeline someone didn’t know they needed. Including me. Especially me.
Let’s make kindness a reflex, not a rare occasion. Jesus wasn’t just kind to the “worthy” – he was kind to the broken, the forgotten, the cranky, the tired. You know… like me all of us.
So go do something good today. For someone else.
Or, you know, me. I’ll take it.
Amen and please send diabetic-friendly snacks. Or a WhatsApp message.
