Dear brothers and sisters,
Sometimes, imagine Jesus like a mother hen watching her chicks scatter in every direction, not listening to her call. The heart aches – it opens its wings and cry out, “Come back, come back to me.”
Our Lord calls the same way: “Jerusalem, Jerusalem…, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. (Matthew 23:37)
God doesn’t demand from us gold or busy serving in the church. What he wants is first place in our hearts. He wants to be the one we think of when we wake up, the one we consult when making decisions, the one we cling to – not only when it’s convenient, but always.
But we so easily let other things take his place – work, children, phones, dreams. God becomes our “when I have time” option, our backup plan when things fall apart.
He is not here to scold you. He is here because he is heartbroken. Without him, we are lost. With Him, we are truly alive.
Let us come back to Jesus. Don’t make him wait for your leftover time. Let Jesus sit on the throne of your life – not in the corner.
This is my plea to all of us: make Him the centre of our lives. That’s where life begins.
