With All My Heart #1: Pursuing God Daily – The Joy of Choosing What’s Best

There is a quiet joy waiting for us each day – not found in a screen (big or small), a schedule, or a scroll – but in the presence of God Himself. When we start our day with him, even in a whisper of prayer or a few verses of Scripture, something happens: our hearts realign with what matters most.

Pursuing God daily is not about performance. It is not ticking off a list. It is about love. It is about choosing what is best over what is merely urgent. In a world that constantly pulls at our attention, making time for God is a bold and deliberate act of devotion – and it changes us.

Jesus said Mary chose what is better when she sat at His feet (Luke 10:42). We can do the same. (Please note that choosing what is better does not mean ONLY choosing what is better. No one said we do not need to do what Martha does. It is about priority.) Every day, we have that choice. And when we choose him, we discover that God does not just meet us – He fills us. With peace. With purpose. With joy that runs deeper than circumstances.

Start small if you need to. A prayer. A psalm. A moment of silence to listen. What matters is that your heart turns toward Him. There is nothing more worthy of your time. Nothing more beautiful to pursue. Seek him – and find joy that never fades.

An intelligent investor will invest in what brings the best return. Are you smart?

Big Idea: The greatest joy in life is found not in doing more, but in drawing near – daily pursuit of God fills us with what truly satisfies.

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jer 29:13)
