The mind is quiet, but it never stops speaking. Like the tides, our thoughts ebb and flow. One second, it drifts in gently, another moment, it crashes hard. And in that constant inner current, we decide what we dwell on, what we believe, how we behave, what we say, and ultimately, who we become.
To love God with all our heart is beautiful. To love Him with all our soul is deep. But to love Him with all our mind – that takes intention. It means we do not let our thoughts run wild. We train them, guide them, anchor them to truth. It is deliberate and intentional.
A godly mind does not ignore the world; it filters it through the lens of eternity. It asks, Is this true? Is this pure? Does this honour Christ? The more we fix our thoughts on what is good, the more we see God’s hand in all things. Peace comes not from understanding everything, but from surrendering our thoughts to the one who does.
Renewing the mind is worship. It is a quiet, daily turning – a thousand tiny yeses to God that shape who we are. The battle for faith often begins in our thinking. Let us win it there.
Big Idea: A mind set on God becomes a life shaped by Him. Right thinking is worship in its purest form.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Rom 12:2)
