With All My Heart #4: Return to Your First Love – Rekindling Passion for God

Life moves fast. We carry responsibilities – work deadlines, family needs, ministry tasks – all good things, yet all demanding. In the noise, the weight, the busyness, something quiet can begin to fade: our love for God. Not gone, just buried. Not cold, but dim.

We remember how it used to be – how prayer once felt alive, how worship turns on the waterworks, how the Word spoke like fire. That first love was not about emotion – it was about hunger. We wanted more of him. And we can want him like that again.

Love does not stay strong by accident. It grows through pursuit. We rekindle love for God the same way we kindled it at first: by drawing near. Setting a time. Carving out space. Sitting with His Word. Talking with Him. Listening. Resting in his presence. Not as a task, but as a treasure.

God has not moved. He has not changed. We changed. He waits – not with condemnation, but with open arms. Return. Run back to him. Start today, even with one honest prayer. The fire can burn again.

Big Idea: First love is not lost—it’s rediscovered through intentional time with God. He is ready when you are.

“Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first.” (Rev 2:4)
