Still Pressing On #2

The road changed today.

It narrowed. Grew steeper. The trees thinned out, and the chilly wind bit a little harder. The man paused – not just to catch his breath, but to wonder how he could keep going.

He hadn’t seen a sign in days. No familiar faces. Just sky, stone, and silence. But he’d come too far to turn back. So, he adjusted his pack, called for Ben, and stepped forward.

Ben came bouncing out of the brush, tongue lolling, tail wagging, eyes bright. As if to say, “Let’s keep going. We’re doing fine.”

And maybe they were.

Some days, the journey feels like progress. Other days, like surviving. But he was learning something: a step forward is a step forward. Even when it’s slow. Even when it’s uphill.

He still didn’t know how far he had to go. But he knew why he walked. Hope. Home. The quiet promise that something waited ahead – that this wasn’t all there was. And he might yet see his boy again.

So, he pressed on. Not with strength, but with resolve. Not with answers, but with trust.

The road is still long.

He was tired but he is still walking.

Today was not bad. Tomorrow would be better.
