We are always on the move, and we move quickly. We serve, speak, smile, and move on -without pausing long enough to ask, how am I, really?
But God invites us into stillness. Not to condemn, but to reveal. He doesn’t hold a hammer – he holds a mirror. In his presence, we begin to see the motives behind our words, the fear beneath our silence, the pride hidden in our good works.
This kind of review is not about perfection. It’s about invitation. An invitation to go deeper, to shed what no longer belongs, to heal what’s been quietly hurting.
When we allow God to search us – like David did in Psalm 139 – we begin to see not only what’s wrong, but what’s possible. He reveals so he can restore. He convicts so he can cleanse. He tears down so he can rebuild.
So, slow down today. Invite him in. Don’t let him wait at the door. Let him ask the questions. Let him lead us to where we dare not explore.
Because sometimes the greatest revival doesn’t begin in a church service (this is not putting down church celebration) but in the quiet corner of a heart willing to be honest.
If God showed you a mirror of your heart right now, would you be willing to look – and stay long enough to listen?
