Finding Your People (Even If It Takes Time) – Part 1

I understand – everyone has their own life. People are busy. They have their families to care for, jobs to keep, and battles I may never see. I respect that. Truly.

But I also have a life. And I get to choose how I live it.

That means I can choose how much of myself I pour into who. Not out of spite, but out of wisdom. My time, attention, and emotional energy are limited; I want to steward them well. Constantly chasing people who don’t respond – and always having to initiate – can slowly wear the soul thin.

Instead of jumping on every significant news and information with hours of research and analysis, and sharing both the information and my view, AND getting zero replies, I should just let it be – until I find “my people.” I should have gotten the hint. I might be spamming people.

So, I’ve come to accept that real connection doesn’t need to be forced.

“My people” won’t need to be convinced of my worth. They won’t leave my messages unread indefinitely or make me feel like replying was somehow too much.

Finding your people may take time. But forcing your way into places where you’re barely noticed? That’s not love. That’s exhaustion.

And I’m done exhausting myself just to be tolerated.
