Walking in Light #4 – Shining Without Shouting

My dear friends,

Light does not need to a microphone. It simply shines, and darkness has no choice but to retreat. So, it is with your life in Christ. You do not need to prove your faith with loud words or grand declarations. A quiet life, lived faithfully, speaks more loudly than shouting ever could.

Peter reminds us, “Live such good lives among the pagans that … they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.” (1 Peter 2:12). The witness of your life that points to Jesus.

Consider the stars. They do not compete with each other; they simply shine where they are placed. Some brighter, some smaller – but each part of the night sky. So it is with you. In your homes, in your workplaces, in your friendships – shine where God has placed you.

The world is full of shouting. Anger, pride, and fear make themselves heard. But gentle light – kindness, patience, humility – has a way of breaking through.

So, walk in light, not by striving to be seen, but by letting Christ be seen through you. That is how you shine without shouting.
