You are driving, again. This time, through thick fog. You know the road is still there, but you can barely see it. You slow down to a crawl. You grip the steering wheel tighter. You can only hope you are still on the right path.
We all have our moments of doubt. One moment, faith is strong. Another moment, it wavers. Question after question rise uninvited. Am I walking with God? Does he hear my prayers? Even a faithful Christian be unsettled when the fog of uncertainty rolls in.
Peter knew this. His eyes were fixed on Jesus when he stepped out of the boat to walk on water. When he looked at the wind and the waves, fear replaced faith. He began to sink. Jesus did not scold him. He reached out his hand.

Jesus did not scold him or let him drown. He reached out His hand and said, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” (Mt 14:31).
Dear reader, doubt does not disqualify you. It is part of the journey. The important thing is where you turn in the fog. When we reach for Jesus, he will hold us, even when we feel weak.
I invite you to say this prayer.
Father, when I doubt, hold me fast. Lift me up when I sink. Strengthen my faith. Help me to fix my eyes on you, even when I cannot clearly see the way ahead. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
