I Do Not Understand Everything and It is OK

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” (Prov 3:5)

Sometimes we feel uneasy when we don’t understand everything in the Bible or God’s ways. But what if mystery is not something to fear, but a beautiful invitation to trust? The truth is, God is far greater than our minds can fully grasp – and that’s okay. In fact, it is a reminder of his greatness and our need for him.

Mystery in faith means accepting that some questions will not have easy answers. Just as a child trusts a loving parent, we can trust God – even when we do not see the whole picture. The Bible is full of wonders: the Trinity, God’s love, the incarnation, the resurrection. These are mysteries that draw us into deeper awe and worship, not confusion or doubt.

When we let go of our need to solve every mystery, we open our hearts to humility and joy. We learn that faith is not just understanding – it is coming before God with an open, trusting spirit. Mystery humbles us, reminding us that God’s wisdom is unlimited and our journey is about walking with Him, not having all the answers.

I invite you to say this prayer.
Father, thank you for the mysteries that show your greatness and invite me to trust. Help me embrace what I do not understand with faith and peace. Teach me to walk humbly and joyfully with you every day. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
