“After you have done everything, to stand.” – Ephesians 6:13
We have talked about position – where you stand.
We have talked about poise – how you stay calm.
We have talked about posture – how you carry the weight.
Now it all comes together – standing steady.
Life keeps testing our balance. One moment, everything feels sure. The next, it shifts – a sudden loss, an unexpected challenge, a silence that stays too long. Yet somehow, by grace, we keep standing.
Steadiness does not mean strength without weakness. It means knowing where to plant your feet when the world tilts. It means trusting that even if you stumble, God’s hand will steady you again.
Often, I let Ben take the lead during walks. He pauses, senses the wind, then continues with quiet certainty. He does not rush; he does not resist – he just keeps moving forward. That is what I want for my soul: to walk with calm steps, rooted in faith, led by love.
Standing steady is not about perfection. It is about perseverance. With God as our foundation, we may bend, but we will not break.
I invite you to say this prayer.
Father, thank You for being my rock through every season. You hold me when I lose balance. You lift me up when I fall. Help me stand steady in faith, in love, and in hope – one day at a time. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
