Hello. We read Psalm 7 today. David sought justice and protection from God. His enemies do not play by the rule. They are evil and wicked. David pleaded with God to deal with the injustice and he trusted God to vindicate him.
Stand Firm for What is Right. Mencius, known as the second Sage after Confucius described courage as the will to go forward even facing thousands who are against us (either disagreeing with us, not understanding us, or trying to stop us.) We must defend justice and truth, even when it is difficult and not convenient. Truth and justice are characteristics of our God. If we want to be Christlike, we cannot keep quiet and pretend we did not see the injustice around us. Be courageous. Stand up for what is right. And trust God will ultimately uphold justice.
Leave Judgement and Sentencing to God. When we seek justice, do not be bitter and seek revenge on our own. God will judge. Let him judge. We just focus on living righteously in our Christian walk.
Trust in God’s Righteousness. Justice does not always come when we expect it. It sometimes come later than we prefer. William Gladstone, who served as the Prime Minister of UK for 12 years said “justice delayed is justice denied.” It speaks of the demand for justice to be served in a timely matter. While this may hold true in a legal system, as a delayed justice may lead to frustration, loss of faith to the system, and even injustice. However, when we see this through the lens of eternity, we believe that justice will be served.
What are the injustices that you observe in your community and country? What is being done about them? What are you doing about them? Do you feel that more and more people are getting away with even more heinous acts? Do you still trust God to uphold justice?
