06/05/2024|Psalm 108 – Praise and Victory

Greetings! This week, we continue with the DUMC 2024 Bible Reading Plan. We read 4 chapters of Psalm and the 9th chapter of 2 Samuel. When we read through the five days reading, we find a common theme of living righteously and following God’s will. Integrity is the topic of the week.

Psalm 108 talks about victory in God, 2 Sam 9 saw David’s kindness and compassion, Psalm 15 discusses the characteristics of people of God, Psalm 101 sees David declaring his commitment to righteous living and lastly Psalm 26, we see the psalmist appealing to God based on his integrity.

We start with Psalm 108 today. The psalmist committed to righteous living and his unwavering confidence in God’s power and victory.

Praise God! Psalm 108 opens with praises. This should encourage us to cultivate a lifestyle of gratitude and worship, no matter what the circumstances is.

Righteousness and Victory. The psalmist is confident of victory in God, he also acknowledges God’s hand in the victory based on his own integrity and righteous living. We may find “successes” by employing schemes and methods not pleasing to God. Why do that?

Sharing God’s glory! The psalmist wants to sing God’s praises “among the nations.” This should inspire us to share God’s goodness and faithfulness to those around us. Do not keep it to yourself. Pass it on.

We all experience good times and bad. How consistent is your praise and worship through it all? Do you strive to live a life that aligns with God’s principles? How can you share your faith and God’s love with those around you? Do you?
