Dear readers,
As we continue with the 2024 DUMC Bible Reading Plan, we are going to read 5 passages that will take us through the importance of God’s Word, the blessings of faithfulness, and the power of wisdom in living a life that pleases God.
We read the remaining portion of Psalm 119 in two days. The Psalmist recognizes the role of scripture as a guiding light to our journey. He has a deep yearning to understand and follow God’s decrees and precepts. Psalm 127 emphasizes the importance of God’s part in every part in our life. Whatever we plan, we build, we endeavour, we need God. When we have God at the centre of our life, he brings stability and success.
In 1 Kings 5 and 6, we read about the reign of King Solomon. We see the great wisdom God bestowed upon Solomon. This allows him to build a prosperous and peaceful kingdom. He was wise when he dealt with the king of Tyre and he was meticulous in his planning and construction of the temple.
I invite you to dive into these five passages. Let Psalm 119 reminds you to open your heart to God’s Word and to seek its guidance. Read Psalm 127 and find out how it applies to your life. And finally, be inspired by Solomon’s reign, which is a testament to the blessings that come because of the wisdom he received from God.
