Greetings. If you are following the 2024 DUMC Bible Reading Plan, we are going to read five new passages this week. We will be exploring the incredible theme of God’s sovereignty and faithfulness running through Psalms 99, 115, 129, Daniel 9, and Ezra 1. We will read about God’s unchanging authority and his deep commitment to his people.
Ps 99 reminds us that God reigns with justice and righteousness. Ps 129 shows God’s faithful protection over his suffering and oppressed people. Dan 9 emphasizes God’s control over history and his promise to deliver his people. Ezra records the fulfilment of the promise. Ps 115 contrasts the powerless idols with God’s mighty power.
When we read these passages and reflect on them, we will realize that God is in control, and he is faithful to his promises. Let this week be an opportunity to grow in your trust in God. He who ruled Israel in the past is actively at work in your life today. Do take time to read the five passages and rediscover his majesty!
