The highest mountains stand tall for him
The deepest oceans hold his breath
The smallest molecules dance for him
And the vast galaxy shines for him.
Ps 66 captures the sense of awe and urges us to remember and celebrate God’s mighty works.
“Come and see what God has done, his awesome deeds for mankind!” (Verse 5.)
The psalmist invites us to behold the power of God in both the natural world and our lives. We are reminded of the ways he has been faithful.
Ps 66 speaks of God’s deliverance and power. It recounts how he parted the Red Sea for Israel and protected them from their enemies. It is not just history but echoes of God’s enduring faithfulness and strength, present in our lives today. When we reflect on his mighty works, we are reminded to trust in his ability to lead us through challenges and seasons of hardship.
Please take time this week to “come and see” what the Lord has done in your life. Record in your journal a time when he brought you through your Red Sea. Think of the time God brought you out of the wilderness. Remind yourself of his steadfast love and power.
I invite you to say this prayer.
Father, thank you for your awesome deeds. Help me to remember your faithfulness in my life and to praise you for who you are and your power to save. May my heart be filled with gratitude and confidence in who you are. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
