Ps 128 paints a picture of joy and peace, which is a blessing that comes from a life centred on God.
“Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him. You will eat the fruit of your labour; blessings and prosperity will be yours.” (Verses 1 and 2)
Ps 128 celebrates the simple yet profound joy that comes when we walk in God’s ways. Our work, relationship, and home become places of peace. What a blessing!
The psalmist reminds us that blessings flow from a heart aligned with God’s will. When we honour him in our daily lives, we start to see his hand in even the small and ordinary moments. Ps 128 speaks of the blessings over our family, work, and community. It encourages us to cultivate a lifestyle of gratitude and obedience that invites God’s peace into every aspect of our lives.
As you read Ps 128, think of how you can honour God in your daily routines. It can be through kindness to a stranger who needs help, gratitude to someone who is kind to you, or patience to a bed-ridden patient. Seek to reflect his love in your family and work, and trust that he will bring growth and peace into those areas.
I invite you to say this prayer.
Father, thank you for the blessings that come from walking with you. Help me to seek you in every aspect of my life. Let me honour you in my words and actions. May my home and work be places where your love and peace dwell. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
