We talked about worshipping God with all our heart but how does it look like?
“Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.” (Verses 1 and 2).
PS 150 is a thunderous call to praise, a crescendo of worship that reminds us of the joy and power in giving glory to God! It is a simple yet profound anthem: everything that has breath is invited to praise the Lord!
“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.” (Verse 6)
This is an invitation to worship God everywhere – both in the sanctuary and in the vast expanse of creation. We are called to life our voices and instruments in response to wo He is and what he has done.
How do we respond to this call to praise in our daily lives? Start your day with gratitude! Take a moment each morning to thank God for his goodness. Next, praise him creatively. Sing. Play an instrument. Write. Draw. Use your own ways to tell how you have seen God’s greatness in your life. Lastly, join corporate worship. There is power in communal worship – join a Sunday celebration, a cell group, fellowship with friends to lift up the name of Jesus.
I invite you to say this prayer.
Father, you are worthy of all my praise! Open my heart to worship you in new and joyful ways. Help me see your greatness at every moment. Allow me to respond with a song of thanksgiving. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord – starting with you!
